Developed through virtual site visits conducted in May 2025, this toolkit highlights the work of three powerful initiatives in Puerto Rico: Construyendo Equidad entre Géneros and SIEMPREVIVAS at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez (UPRM) and UPR Río Piedras (UPRRP), as well as Coordinadora Paz para las Mujeres (Puerto Rico Dual Coalition). Together, these organizations offer meaningful examples of campus-based prevention, survivor-centered healing, and community-rooted approaches to fostering belonging. This toolkit invites grantees to pause and reflect on what prevention could look like on their campuses if it were truly shaped by students’ needs, identities, and lived experiences.

The purpose of this repository is to provide Historically Black Colleges and Universities with a framework for violence prevention, education and training resources. These resources provide just-in-time knowledge for all who are involved with the prevention, education and training of sexual assault, dating violence and stalking on campuses. A Culturally Specific Perspective: The Hispanic Serving Institution Story
The purpose of this report is to share highlights from listening sessions conducted by Esperanza United (the federally designated Latin@ resource center on gender-based violence and a technical assistance provider for the U.S. Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women Campus Program) around how Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs) address and respond to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking on campus. This report also serves as an overview of the definition, designation, Impact, and history of Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs).
Supporting Latin@ Student Survivors of Domestic and Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, and Stalking
Domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking impact individuals across all races, ethnicities, socio-economic levels, genders, sexual orientation, and levels of education. Therefore, it is important to be aware of the impact on different populations and explore ways to improve prevention and response efforts, while taking into consideration different factors that can impact diverse student populations. Data published by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) indicate that one in three (34.4%) Latinas experienced physical violence, sexual violence, and/ or stalking from an intimate partner in their lifetime. The same report indicated that 18.5% of Hispanic men had experienced sexual violence during their lifetime
