For too long, the burden of advocating for communities free from gender-based violence has been carried by women, trans, and non-binary people. Futures Without Violence, a health and social justice nonprofit, offers a path forward with its toolkit that aims to shift the difficult reality that all men play a role in enabling violence and abuse to one that highlights the opportunity men have to stop it. The toolkit connects how rigid gender roles, which contribute to relationship abuse and gender inequity, also hurt men and provides campus men with the resources to leverage their strengths to advocate against violence and gender equity.
Through groundbreaking programs, policy development, and public action campaigns, Futures Without Violence is committed to healing those traumatized by violence today and creating healthy, violence-free communities for tomorrow. From training professionals such as doctors, judges, and coaches on responding to abuse to educating communities about respect and healthy relationships, they are building sustainable leadership to prevent violence and transform social norms worldwide.
